The base rate is $20 per approved audio hour. Conversation sessions, noisy-room sessions and locales we are short on pay above it — and whatever a session says it pays is what you are paid, shown before you start.

Base rate plus a locale bonus of up to $12 an hour. If your locale is thin in the pool, you see these first.

20 min per sessionTwo minutes. You see exactly what recordings are used for before you agree to anything.
A 30-second test tells you whether your phone and your room are good enough. Most are.
Every open session shows its pay, its length and what you will be asked to do, before you start.
Start, stop, redo a prompt. Nothing is submitted until you tap submit.
A reviewer checks the audio against the brief. Approved sessions are paid within seven days.
A rejected session can be redone. If the brief was at fault, it is paid anyway.
Recordings are used to train and test speech systems. You approve that on the file before you record, and you can withdraw a session any time before it is paid.
Consent is captured on the recording, in plain language, and it names what the audio trains.
Change your mind about a session and it is deleted, not archived.
Sessions are identified by contributor ID. Personal details stay out of the dataset.
No bidding, no surge, no rate that drops once you are halfway through.
Blue is where the pool is already deep. If you are outside it, your accent is one we are short on — those sessions carry a bonus and reach you first.
The same operation pays people to transcribe audio and to align it word by word. It is the larger side of the bench — 250 transcribers and 400 aligners — and it runs from a laptop, headphones and a quiet room. Sessions and annotation work draw from the same pool, so signing up once gets you both.
The mic check tells you in thirty seconds whether you are set up. Most people are.
